Sir Francis Drake

Sir Francis Drake was born in Tavistock, Devon in the year of 1544. He obtained the command of the Judith. He was the oldest of twelve sons. Francis Drake married Mary Newman in 1569. She died 12 years later. Francis Drake traveled to the New World with his cousin John Hawkins. They found 24,0000 pesos. Then Drake became a knight. He failed to conquer the port of Las Palmas. He died in Portobello, Colón Panama. He was a great explorer.
