James Pierson Beckwourth was born on April 6, 1798 in Fredrickburg, Virginia. His nickname was Jim.
James (Jim) loved nature, adventure and exploring. Soon he became an explorer.
One day he was walking in the mountains and saw a small opening. He went though and found a small dirt path. As he followed it he found a watering hole.
He went and told his village. He was a hero to everyone.
Soon after he went far and wide helping people and exploring the world.
He died on October 29, 1866 at age 69. Nobody forgot his kind actions.
