The Titanic
The Titanic in 1912
The Titanic was a massive boat built for the richest people in England. It took at least five years to build the Titanic. She stretched to 882 feet and weighed 21,831 tons. On April 10th, 1912 the Titanic took the first sailing on the ocean.
Later that night she set off with the current of the ocean. On April 14th, 1912 every thing was going fine. Everyone said that the Titanic was practically unsinkable, but it wasn't night quite yet. She did have a very small career on the ocean.
Around midnight, everything was going just like the dream cruise was planned. Then, the watchmen spotted a very large object which seemed to be a Iceberg not far ahead. Everyone was trying to get the oat turned, but it was to late! Slowly the dream ship was sinking. When the last life boat left, there was 1,523 people on the boat still.
The life boats got saved by a nearby ship called the Carpathia. The story of the Titanic still lives in our minds. It was the largest ship on & under the ocean at its time. The story of the "unsinkable ship" was everywhere on the news, the papers, and with family members of the survivors.
