St. Packtricks day is celebrated March 17th. It’s named after the man, St. Packtrick. The holiday was born March 17th, 1762. The holiday is also called “Paddy’s Day.” It is celebated on the mark of his death. The shamrock was a sacred plant in Ireland because it symboled the rebirth of spring. The shamrock is now the symbol for St. Packtricks day. Blue was the first color the Irish wore on St. Packtricks Day. It changed to green because it’s one of the colors on Ireland’s tri-color flag. Pinching came from Boston, Masachusettes. We pinch people if they aren’t wearing green to warn you aboout the Leprechauns.
